Some emotional/behavioral changes are normal as teenagers start to experience interpersonal, physiological, physical, and mental development. With middle/high school comes a lot of changes: going from 4 classes to 7, friends/boyfriend changes, teacher changes. What happens when we throw in home changes as well? According to https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/images/databriefs/501-550/db527-fig3.png, "The prevalence of depression in adolescents and adults age 12 and older increased from 8.2% to 13.1% from 2013–2014 to August 2021–August 2023." Depressive thoughts/behaviors can become a serious issue.
